Social Belonging & ThetaHealing — When Your Child Struggles to Fit In
Children who struggle socially are not missing a skill — they are missing a feeling.
What you see from the outside
Your child comes home from school quiet. Or upset. They eat lunch alone. They are not invited to birthday parties. You have talked to the teacher, arranged playdates, coached conversations. And something is still not landing.
What is actually happening
Social struggle in children is rarely about social skills. It is almost always about a felt sense that says: I am different. I am too much. I am not interesting enough. If they really knew me, they would not want me.
Where the belief comes from
Early experiences of rejection, transitions, what the child absorbed at home, and generational patterns. The child is responding to something real that they absorbed.
What actually changes the pattern
This work changes what the child believes is true about themselves. When a child genuinely feels that they are interesting, that they are worth knowing — they walk into rooms differently.
How I work
For younger children I work primarily with the parent. For older children — from around 7 or 8 upward — I work directly with the child as well.
A note on the "shy" label
Shyness is almost never a fixed trait. It is a strategy — a way of staying safe in social situations that feel unpredictable or dangerous. And strategies can change when the underlying fear changes.
